The new office space was much larger than the business had previously occupied and was essentially just a shell. I worked with the client and a graphics team to develop a new brand and to carry this though into the design concept of the interior.
Throughout the project I was responsible for all of the interior design layout specifications and then took on complete project management to ensure the interior fit out worked efficiently with the build team.
The results were a functional and modern space for staff to work within, and a welcoming atmosphere for customers to enjoy.
“Following a highly successful rebranding of Carden’s Estate Agents to Carden’s Residential and Students@Cardens we were looking for a local design company to carry this fresh and vibrant new image into our new office space in Longbrook Street. Dawn was recommended by a friend and employing her proved to be one of my wisest decisions. After coming up with a choice of excellent ideas, she was always on hand to visit the project and most importantly, to convey to the builders whether she agreed with their interpretation of her design!! Her design still looks fresh and crisp five years on and clients (and competitors) still comment on the “new” design.
Small businesses in Exeter generally hate spending money on the pretty bits; Dawn Chilcott proves that any investment in designing a professional and comfortable work space will reap its rewards.”Carden's Estate Agents
Dawn’s refelections on the project:
“I enjoyed working with Cardens. It was an interesting project. In order to achieve a design style that worked for both the rental market and the selling market some elements of the design had to be standard while others very contrasting. But it worked and has helped the company to work in both sectors with a clear definition of space.
By using the different levels in the building and by injection curved shapes into the main space it has helped the design flow seamlessly while defining areas and providing areas of privacy too.”
